Hi all - I know that some of you have been meeting in small groups for informal runs of late, and I trust that social distancing guidelines have been followed in all such cases. In the future (with reference to the guidance from Scottish Cycling, below) could the organiser of any such rides please take a note of the names, addresses and contact numbers for everyone attending, as well as the date, meeting place/time and approximate route. EDIT: Please fill in this quick form for everyone who takes part in the event. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/14ct4WRAghmE8OzODU5ysaLJlLTwCOKzXLLcphu3eUL8/edit This can be done afterwards, but I would encourage you to do this using your smart phone before you set off. I’ll then keep a record of these centrally, which will help to assist the NHS in the tracing capabilities should any member of one of our rides develop symptoms of Coronavirus at a later date. I know it’s a bit of a pain in the arse, but it could save lives, so I’d appreciate your co-operation in this. Thanks all. Paul McL.

Hi members, First of all, can I congratulate all of you for your responsible response to the ongoing crisis. It’s great to be part of a group of considerate and caring people. The appeal from your secretary to exercise an internal track & trace will be of high value as we approach winter, a time where the clever money is on a second spike. I get it, that carrying out administrative tasks can be considered to be a bit of a ball-ache, but let’s face it, filling in a quick record of your interactions with other cyclists takes no more time than sending a SMS text, which we all do frequently. This will represent a significant piece of work for the secretary, but he is committed to it, if only to ensure any chance of the virus spreading through our community is kept in check. I know that’s what all of you would want, so please add your weight to this campaign to deny COVID the opportunity to take any of us down. The initiative has been launched by our governing body, and the Ivy should feel duty bound to appear compliant, so please take those few minutes at the end of each run to make a record of your contacts. You never know, that little effort may save someone’s life. Thank guys, and please enjoy your group rides. God knows, you’ve been deprived for long enough. Keep it in the big ring!! Gus
ok we can do that, want a list from last night?
