Hi all - I’ve had an email from our hugely talented friends at Scottish Cycling, advising that the ban on local/regional racing in Scotland has been extended to at least Aug 1st. I understand they will give us at least 14 days notice if any further extensions, so wouldn’t expect to hear anything more until mid-July at the earliest. I haven’t yet heard anything from the CTT, but of course will update you all as soon as I do. Meantime - give me a shout with any questions on ivy@btinternet.com. I hope you and your families are all safe and well, and look forward to seeing you all in the near future. Best regards. Paul McLafferty

Further update from SC today.... Following British Cycling’s update today regarding the ongoing work to enable people to return to competition we can confirm that, at this point in time we are unfortunately not in a position to lift the suspension of competition in Scotland from August 1. In line with British Cycling, we do believe that some competition formats and disciplines may be able to return sooner than others and we are working with British Cycling to produce a framework including guidelines and tools for the safe return of each discipline. However, with the current Scottish Government Guidelines in relation to the return to sport, as well as social distancing and guidelines around gatherings etc we are not in a position to announce a lifting of the suspension at this time. We do understand that this may be disappointing for some of our cycling community, including yourselves as event organisers, officials and those of you who do race too. However, our priority does remain the health and wellbeing of all involved and supporting our community in a safe return to activity and competition.
just been sent this survey, with filling in https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUWKQRGtCQ8KJL31PUppWMulLYx4tFLwedpSZtJ_CanQQY1g/viewform
thanks Paul, the Ivy Auld Yins is scheduled foecend of August, not on the website yet but ready, however, not sure it's a good idea, 80 people in a big peloton end August with Ivy name on it, also, not sure how you can socially distance running a race, think it may well he cancelled. Thoughts?
