My carbon Ribble bike has a creak , I’ve changed the bottom bracket and the creak returned right away . I’ve checked most things and replaced all the cheapest parts. does anyone have any creak finding / eliminating tips? It occurs from the crank / bottom bracket area when under a bit of load ie up hills My line of thought was misalignment of the bottom bracket but I have no idea how that could be fixed

Good chance it was the pedals/cleats Creaky every sound amplifies through a carbon bike it can be like a drum sometimes
Could be your knee. Anyways. Your new handle is Creaky - Son of Clanky
Well the creaks away . No crack on my chain stays , checked hub and spokes couldn’t see any issues . Serviced pedals to a limited degree and removed cleats ,cleaned , greased and replaced . Could be any or all of those but it’s gone so thank you all
It is threaded BB , I’ll have a look at the cleats and chainstays when I’m off work next , thanks for the replies though guys very helpful
Is it a threaded bottom bracket? It's just if it's one of the press fit ones they can be bad for creaking. As the guys say a creak can resonate through various bits of the bike that aren't near the bottom bracket. As Paul says cleats can cause the creaking. If it's a press fit I've always fixed it with mounting the BB with mid strength locktight. Stopped all creaking and it was easy enough to remove once it required replacement. Hope you get to bottom of your creak!
Have you tried changing your cleats?
Take the back wheel off and push the drop outs together and if the chain stay is cracked you’ll see it
Chain stays take all the stress when you’re pedalling
Check the chains stays
