Hi again fellow members.
As an addendum to my message from a few days ago, I thought it poignant to add an expression of my appreciation to those members of this club who are key workers.
For many of the blessed among us, we have no reason to leave the house, and thereby minimise the risk of us contracting this horrible illness, but for some of the members of this club, that choice does not exist, because the work they do is critical.
Our heroes from the police force like Danny Blair and Andy Stewart (albeit the latter through a stroke of horrible bad luck is currently indisposed), and our heroes from the NHS like Miles Fisher who will be right amongst the virus and working crazy hours.
I sincerely apologise if I’ve missed anyone.
These guys are our front line defence against this dangerous illness. They put themselves in the firing line every day to limit the risk for the rest of us.
Let’s salute these guys and let them know how much we appreciate them.
This appreciation goes out also, to the friends and families of our members who are serving to protect us.
Please reply to this post with a message of appreciation.
Gus

End of week 1. Well done to everyone who has complied. Hang in there guys, it will all be worth it. I’m concerned about my mental health now. Those cows in the field behind my house are starting to look damned attractive🤣. SUMMER TOMORROW👍🏻
I still don’t think everyone gets it. It will come though. Everyone will lose someone they know with this vicious illness. Once the death toll gets to 4 figures in Scotland, the lights will start to come on. Adam should have sneezed on the arsehole. That would create some distance.
No accounting for ignorant idiots. Giving abuse to anybody who has put themselves in the front line for us. Thanks Adam.
Here’s to a speedy recovery Andy.
Based on earlier comment , there was Adam came home today fuming. Some arsehole gave home dogs abuse just for Adam asking the guy to stay behind the line for social distancing you just can’t win
Cheers for that Gus, actually saw that on Facebook today
all the best to Andy for a speedy recovery
Apologies Alex. Thought everybody knew about Andy having sustained a very serious back injury while on holiday. He’s out of hospital and back home now. Paul and I dropped in to see him last week, and in typical Andy style - he says he’s fine. Can’t wait to get back on the bike, but he’s still taking so many pain killers he’d fail a medical control. It will be a lengthy recovery for the big man, but he’s determined as usual to recover. We all wish him as speedy a recovery as possible under the circumstances.
I do appreciate them
i have a niece who’s a doctor in hospital now on 12 hours shifts, 2 nephews who are policemen and a son who’s working is Tesco putting up with the day to day crap that comes with that job
what happened to Andy?
Thanks Richard. If this gratitude spreads as quickly as the virus, our heroes will know that we take nothing for granted.
Could not agree more. Many thanks guys and I include my daughter who’s a Clinical Pharmacist at Wishaw General and my son in law, Bruce, in the Police.
